New Beads to Share

Getting ready to head up to Arrow Springs (2.5-hour drive from San Francisco) for my Silver Glass Workshop this weekend. Since I have been delinquent in updating our blog, I would like to share some new beads before taking off.

Playing with Enamel - a journey!

After playing with enamel for the past three months, I am happy to say that it will remain one of my favorite materials to be used on my beads!

I love to share this journey with you! Mind you, this is just a check point - there are much more to be explored and learned!

Some of you may remember these first few beads:

Starting out gingerly . . . only on a clear base bead, just testing out colors!

Are you tired of my enamel beads yet? ;)

Now that I am a wee bit more comfortable with working with enamels . . . I decided to use them with my favorite . . . silver glass! A good friend also suggested I should try different bead shapes, thus my going back to the more elegant bicone shapes.

These wonderful murrinis are by Renee Wiggins and John Rizzi.

Playing with Enamel

I have wanted to play more with enamel and finally had a chance to this past weekend. These are just some test beads . . . still learning how the materials react. Now the big question: to etch or not to etch?

These remind me of Japanese brush paintings! ;-)
